Eric Love is a dynamic higher education practitioner and speaker who seamlessly blends firsthand experience, extensive knowledge, and an inspiring message for his audiences. Drawing from his professional, personal, and academic background, he is equally adept at delivering keynote addresses, presenting workshops, and facilitating weekend retreats.
As an undergraduate at Boise State University (BSU), Eric made history as the first African American Homecoming King student body president, earning a B.A. in Social Science. He later earned a master’s degree in counseling with a focus on Student Affairs from Idaho State University (ISU), where he also served for five years as the Diversity Resources Coordinator. Eric continued his studies with some doctoral coursework in Higher Education Administration at Indiana University, where he spent ten years as Director of Diversity Education. In this role, he worked with faculty, staff, students, administrators, and the local community to foster an inclusive environment.
Most recently, Eric served as the Director of Staff Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Notre Dame, where he spearheaded innovative strategies for diversity programs and multicultural competency training. During his time there, he trained over 5,000 individuals, developed the strategic plan for staff diversity and inclusion, and influenced D&I efforts across faculty and the student body. Eric was a major part of the new hire orientation, welcoming staff and helping them feel like they belonged.
Eric is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and the 100 Black Men of Greater South Bend. Among his proudest accomplishments is his role in advocating for the State of Idaho to officially recognize the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. He is the founder of LoveForce Consulting, a consulting firm that specializes in multicultural competency, student leadership, and social justice education, inclusion and diversity. Eric's training sessions are engaging, challenging, and informative, designed to meet the needs of diverse audiences—from those just beginning to explore diversity and inclusion, to those seeking more advanced discussions on these critical topics.
Through his work, Eric continues to inspire and challenge others to make lasting, positive changes in their communities and organizations.
